NoSQL Meetup at Blue Box Group

Posted by Jesse Proudman about about 1 year ago...

NoSQL is a hot ticket right now. We had originally scheduled a Blue Box Group hosted NoSQL meetup for March 31st, but it turns out there’s a Hadoop event that night. With the goal of involving as many people as we can, we’re going to postpone our event and will post an updated date soon!

Blue Box Group Now SAS70 Type I Certified

Posted by Jesse Proudman about about 1 year ago...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 15, 2010. Blue Box Group understands that one of the most important things to its customers is security. This premier boutique hosting provider now has something that will ensure more peace of mind: SAS70 Type 1 certification.

SAS70 certification requires provider-customer transparency, security controls and safeguards when hosting and processing customer information and data.

This certification represents Blue Box Groups’ ongoing commitment to security in every aspect of its business.

“Security is a major concern when it comes to building our networks, systems and processes – both internally and for our customers,” says Blue Box Group’s Chief Technology Officer, Stephen Balukoff. “This audit represents a great opportunity to show how important security really is to us.”

In serving a wide range of industries, Blue Box Group’s certification signals an understanding of the complex and changing needs of growing businesses. “Many of our customers start out small, but as they grow their security needs also grow and change.” said CEO, Jesse Proudman. “Taking the guesswork out of scaling your site alongside your business is what we do best.”

SAS 70 demonstrates that service providers have adequate controls and safeguards in place to host or process data related to their customer base. Blue Box Group is the only Ruby on Rails oriented hosting provider that maintains its own SAS70 certification.

The company expects to receive SAS70 Type II certification later this year.
